Further to my previous article, there have been a few noteworthy changes to the scheduled event.
One of the scheduled speakers, Rania Khalek, has backed out, citing the following reason: “I pulled out because I will not be in town and I'm sick of the backlash from Syria trolls. Had no idea Berlin was invited”.
Khalek claims she “won’t be in town” but also added that “she’s sick of the backlash from Syria trolls”. Not quite sure which excuse we should believe. She then goes on to say, “I had no idea Berlin was invited”.  Now we’re getting somewhere.

Khalek is referring to Greta Berlin, notorious anti-Semite, co-founder of the Free Gaza Movement, and frequent boarder of “freedom flotillas” to Gaza.  Berlin has even been criticized by Ali Abunimah of the Electronic Intifada for posting Anti-Semitic propaganda. Imagine that.  This week, she also invited our very own “Holohoax” white nationalist Jimmy Fry to her hate corner at the event. Jimmy of course accepted her invitation.
After exposure, an exchange on Twitter ensued. The @freegazaorg account [which Greta is said to be handling] sent a picture of a currency bill. The bill says “Palestine” on it in English, Hebrew, and Arabic. Of course, being as ignorant as we are, we all believe that since it is emblazoned with the word Palestine, that must mean it was issued by the sovereign Arab Palestinian state in 1939. Unfortunately for Greta, she isn’t very detail-oriented. Had she noticed the signatures on the currency, she would have read Sir P. Ezechiel - Sir J. Caulutt – and H. Downie, all British members of the Palestine Currency Board for the British Mandate at the time. These names are a far cry from Al-Mohammed or Al-Husseini.

I explained that the bill was issued by the British Mandate and that it was in circulation until 1947. Prior to that, the currency was the Turkish Lira under Ottoman rule. The response? A pathetic “you’re paid by the Israeli government” and the usual block.

So it’s safe to assume that Khalek backed out because Berlin and other anti-Semites plan to attend the event. The backlash she receives daily for supporting Assad, as well as the talk cancelled by BDS earlier in the month, was enough to make her think twice. Equally interesting is that your usual “anti-Zionists” starting lashing out at the event organizer, Abbas Hamideh.
One of those is the one and only Gary Spedding, a proud supporter of BDS and anti-Zionist. The other is the notorious Noa Shaindlinger who supports Hamas and claimed to be affiliated with the terrorist organization PFLP.

She was even called a Zionist and “Controlled Opposition” by non-other than Hamideh sidekick and number one David Duke fan Jimmy Fry, who will also attend the event.

As for Hamideh, he has taken to Facebook to criticize the Al-Awda members who urged him to tone it down. He also referenced to the article I wrote and “congratulated” the traitors, saboteurs, and gatekeepers who have officially changed sides – and are now with AIPAC. Then Hamideh wrote another post claiming that anti-Semites and white nationalists will not be invited to the event. This of course is a lie.

As of this moment, here are some of the speakers and attendees of the event. Reach your own conclusions as to whether BDS is becoming a haven for rabid anti-Semitic activity.

Abbas Hemideh – Event Organizer
Refers to Jews as “Shlomos”.
Supports Hezbollah, Hamas and Assad.
Organized rally in Cleveland . Followers chanted, “Kaybar Kaybar Yahud” [Slaughter Jews].
Greta Berlin
Promotes anti-Semitic videos on social media.
Shunned by Electronic Intifada

Alison Weir
Promoter of “Jewish Power” and “Organ Harvesting” anti-Semitic blood libels.
Shunned by Max Blumenthal and JVP.
Anas Amireh - Event Organizer
Promotes car ramming attacks by terrorists.
Jimmy Fry
Holocaust denier – “Auschwitz Lies”.
Makes jokes about Jews making good lampshades.
In conclusion, and as I have stated repetitiously, BDS is in shambles in terms of its leading activists, who are not aligned with one another. Expect to continue seeing this type of mud-slinging on social media as more and more anti-Semites join the “peaceful movement” known as Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions.

An unprecedented event occurred last week – a unique one no doubt – but one which is surely to become par for the course in the future. One of the more prominent BDS activists in the United States, Rania Khalek, who travels extensively lecturing in support of BDS, had her talk cancelled by the SJP [Students for Justine in Palestine] chapter at the University of North Carolina.

The event was cancelled, as per SJP’s official statement, due to Khalek’s “unclear” views related to the ongoing Syrian conflict and genocide. Khalek responded claiming the cancellation was the work of “Syria Trolls” .

For those who don’t follow, Rania Khalek is very well-known among pro-Palestinian circles and has cultivated a career around slandering Israel even in the face of human suffering. Many have written about her vile, hypocritical attitude towards Israel. I’d like to use this last event as an example of what I believe lies ahead for the global BDS movement as I did in a previous article.

Lately, Rania Khalek has been harshly criticized for her support of the Syrian regime led by Bashar Al-Assad. I have criticized Khalek, and will continue to do so, for dismissing horrific reports of human rights violations, not only in Syria. My criticism also revolves around her support of Islamic terrorists groups such as Hamas. Khalek claims she would strongly advocate against Hamas, but since they “don’t use human shields and behead people”, it’s not worth her while. Quick reminder. Hamas publicly acknowledged in 2008 and 2014 that they use human shields. More can be read here. So apparently, horrific acts such as public street executions, forced child labor, oppression of women, advocating vehicular ramming attacks, stabbing children in their sleep, and blowing up civilian buses are not causes for concern or advocating against.

This latest event involving the UNC SJP chapter surprised many and created quite an uproar on social media. Equally surprising is the relative silence from former employer Ali Abunimah, co-founder of the Electronic Intifada, for whom Khalek worked as an editor until she stepped down. Rumors have it that Khalek was fired by Abunimah.

Much has been written about the U.S. based pro-Hamas publication known as “The Electronic Intifada”, which usually goes into damage control mode anytime the BDS movement runs into a roadblock. The “publication” is also widely considered to be the leading BDS propaganda tool on the internet today.

Criticism directed at Intifada and its propaganda “journalists” peaked after Khalek was invited to speak at an event sponsored by the British Syrian Society, a London based NGO founded by Bashar al Assad’s father-in-law. The event focused on sanctions directed at Syria. Some of the criticism even originated from colleagues within Intifada. Even Laurie King, an Intifada co-founder, felt disgusted by Khalek’s attendance.

Now that we have laid out some background, I want to focus on the reason we are seeing tension among those who promote BDS and why internal conflict and strife within the movement will continue to deteriorate.

Firstly, the global BDS movement does not screen applicants prior to joining “the cause”. This means that the door is open to literally anyone who chooses to get involved [and hates Israel – and in many cases, Jews]. As I mentioned in my previous piece , BDS has proven to be a haven for anti-Semites who are looking for a platform from which to spew their hate. And what better platform than the one which allows to vent hatred towards Jews under the guise of “anti-Zionism”?

Further, the open door policy means that activists joining BDS originate from different backgrounds. Some are Sunni, others are Shia... some pro-Assad, others reject him… some Alawite, others Salafai or Wahhabi.  For now, I’m purposefully disregarding non-Muslims [i.e. anti-imperialist whites, etc.] who are just looking to raise a flag and grab a beer later. BDS leaders believe non-Arab support is the key to BDS success since past attempts at boycotting Israel have failed. During those failed boycott attempts, non-Arabs were generally not involved, hence the need for “intersectionality”. Cracks on that front have begun as well. Fiascos like Linda Sarsour leading a "Womens March" is a testament to that.

Khalek herself is Druze and pro-Assad, so she’s viewed by many as pro-Alawite. Alawis, a sect Shia Islam, are a minority [led by a non-democratic dictatorial dynasty] controlling the Sunni majority in Syria. Sunnis make up roughly 74% of Syria while the ruling Alawites number roughly 12%. It’s also important to note that Khalek supports Hamas. They are Sunni – and heavily funded by Qatar, who adhere to the Salafi branch of Sunni Islam. Khalek abhors Qatar and criticizes its government almost daily for funding Syrian rebels fighting the Assad regime. Apparently, it’s OK for Qatar to fund Hamas but funding Syrian rebels is a no-no. Perhaps if Hamas concentrated on fighting Assad, Khalek would be “advocating” against them. It also seems to be ok to staunchly support Linda Sarsour, who is partly funded by the Sharia-based Qatar Foundation.

What about Hezbollah? Well, they are Shia, and Khalek supports them as well. Hezbollah is also heavily supported by Iran - essentially a de facto client terrorist state. Let us not forget that Rania is a feminist, so naturally she would support Iran which is predominantly Shia as well. Iran also supports Hamas – but here again, not because they love each other, but because they share the same hate for Israel.

Before the Syrian Civil War began, Assad and his Alawite regime supported Sunni Hamas. Since then, Hamas has carefully expressed support for Sunni Syrian rebels, whom Khalek calls terrorists. According to Khalek, Hamas are not terrorists since they “don’t behead”.

In a 2012 Telegraph article, we read about Hamas’ support for Syrian rebels, which ultimately led to their exile from Damascus. Also in the article, Ismail Haniyeh [then-leader of Hamas in Gaza] visited a mosque in Cairo during Friday prayers. During the visit, he offered statements in support of “Syrian freedom fighters”. The crowd went on to chant, “No Hezbollah, No Iran – No Hezbollah, No Iran”.
Now, throw this into the mix: Khalek herself is secular! To be exact, she is a tank-top strutting [more power to her] Druze and a feminist atheist who happens to be vegan.  If you thought your half-Yemenite half-Polish Jewish friend was confused, try living in Khaleks shoes for a day.

Khalek is but one example of many that are conflicted when it comes to who exactly they can or should support within the chaotic Middle East. Her support of Assad, and by association the mass genocide of Syrians, is precisely why her talk at UNC was cancelled.

Khalek is also due to speak later this month at the annual hate fest organized by BDS promoter Abbas Hamideh . Interestingly, just in the past few days we have seen tension within his Al-Awda organization. On March 4th, Al-Awda released a rare statement regarding the hate rally.  The title of the statement was “Clarification on Upcoming Support Palestine, Protest AIPAC Rally in Washington, DC”. Essentially, “Al-Awda National” is claiming they have no involvement or affiliation with the upcoming rally. Apparently, the bad press [perhaps partly due to my article] exposing how rabid-Antisemitism is creeping into Al-Awda resonated with some members.

Since the statement, Hamideh has taken to Facebook and lashed out at other Al-Awda members and is claiming that the rally is now organized by “Al-Awda's Ohio chapter and the Midwest regional affiliates”. He even went as far as to post screenshots of private text messages between himself and other members who demanded he tone it down.

I always hear the Abunimahs, Khaleks, and Hamidehs of the world tell us, “BDS is rapidly growing”. Well, that is true, but growing into what? Based on what we’re witnessing lately, the more BDS grows, the less effective it’s becoming in achieving its main objective – which is to destroy Israel. The amount of daily news items reporting on BDS defeats along with radical elements within the movement are growing rapidly. The future of BDS will prove to be historically consistent with what happened regarding past boycotting initiatives.

Lessons from past boycotts should be learned. Starting from the very first boycott within the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in 1922 against Jewish owned-businesses in Mandatory Palestine, to the boycott declared by the Syrian-Palestinian Congress in 1933, through the Yishuv boycott by the Arab League in 1945 and the boycott of Jewish goods and cargo by King Farouk of Egypt in 1950, and followed by the Arab boycotts during the 1970’s. The countries who initiated these boycotts have all since either signed peace treaties with Israel or kept diplomatic relations on a low burner. Current Middle East geopolitics are pushing more and more Arab countries to search for “normalization” channels with Israel.

In summary, if future BDS events continue to include Nazi salutes and chanting “Adolf Hitler”, “Slaughter Jews”, and “Allahu Akbar”, it’s only a matter of time before a radical Islamic BDS splinter group accepts responsibility for ______________________.

As for online BDS propaganda hate sites like The Electronic Intifada, which will ultimately vanish into the dustbin of history, I see a bright and profitable future as an online merchandise retailer of “Oriental Gifts”.

Joseph Mikarov tirelessly exposes the antisemitism and hate from Israel haters and BDSers on Twitter. I asked him to write something for EoZ and his response is a tour de force:

Much has been written about the BDS movement and its anti-Israel activities. The individual leaders of this movement should be watched closely. This article aims to re-introduce the reader to one of the more prominent BDS organizers and activists in the United States. In addition, I will also detail the upcoming anti-Israel hate fest he and his organization are planning in Washington D.C. next month on March 26, protesting the annual AIPAC Policy Conference, and, of course, promoting their Free Palestine agenda.

The activist to whom I refer is Abbas “Falasteen” Hamideh. This isn’t the first article written about Hamideh and it certainly won’t be the last. Abbas Hamideh is the co-founder of Al-Awda [The Palestinian Right to Return Coalition], an extremist organization which, simply put, is against the State of Israel’s right to exist. Many, including myself, concur that the organization is rife with anti-Semitic bigots.

Hamideh and his followers don’t hide their aspirations to delete Israel, nor do they make any apologies for their extremist views. On his Twitter profile Hamideh reminds us that he “doesn’t compromise on one inch of Palestinian land” – from Cleveland – where he lives and leads a comfortable life. But to his credit, he loves Jews. “Real Jews” that is. The ones who attend Holocaust denial conferences in Iran and protest against Zionists together with anti-Semites. Another “Real Jew”, who happens to be Hamideh’s favorite Jew, is convicted criminal and staunch Hamas supporter, US attorney Stanley Cohen. Hamideh, however has difficulty hiding his anti-Semitism. He frequently describes Jews as “Shlomos”, a derogatory and anti-Semitic term. Hamidehs “love” for the United States of America is also questionable. In a video filmed on the streets in Cleveland, Hamideh promotes racism and ethnic cleansing by shouting “This is not your country. Go back to Europe.” It’s very similar to what he tells Jews in Israel, “Go back to Poland, Russia, or even Morocco”.

Over the years, Hamideh has organized countless BDS rallies in an attempt to indoctrinate young students to his extremist ideology. The mere fact that certain colleges and universities in the United States allow Hamideh to speak and spew his anti-Israel rhetoric is mind-boggling. For example, in 2015, the University of Maryland allowed SJP [Students for Justice in Palestine – a campus proxy for BDS] to host an event where Hamideh was invited to speak. The invite stated, “We are honored to host Palestinian activist Abbas Hamideh as our guest speaker”.  The New York School of Law also invited Al-Awda for a poetry evening. Notice that the Muslim American Society also sponsored the event. More on this organization and ties to terrorism can be found here

Yet another example is an invite to Oberlin College. The video presented by Hamideh during the visit was narrated by his friend Tariq Shadid, aka “Doc Jazz”, who frequently demonizes Israel .

A further instance is when Hamideh teamed up with “anti-Zionist” Anna Baltzer on a divestment campaign on behalf of BDS.

It’s also important to note that Hamideh is a proud supporter of the Islamic terrorist organizations Hezbollah and Hamas. The same Hezbollah that organizes rallies and where chants of “Death to America” are heard. Hamideh regularly praises Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, even describing him as the “most honorable Arab-Muslim leader of our time”. No wonder he was questioned by the FBI.

Hamideh is an enthusiastic supporter of Iran as well, and continuously implies that Iran should wipe Israel off the map. His praise of Islamic terrorist organizations has been well-documented by many – here , here , and here – and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Regarding Hezbollah, it’s important to note that the group is a listed terrorist organization in the United States. That same list includes Hamas, which Hamideh proudly and openly supports as well. In fact, the new “leader” of Hamas is on a U.S. Specially Designated [Terrorist] Nationals list. Others on the list include ISIS, Al-Qaeda, PFLP, Boko Haram, and many more.

As for Hamas, Hamideh doesn’t hide his support for the radical Islamic death cult nor for the terrorists walking into restaurants in Tel-Aviv and shooting children. He actually takes it a step further and mocks the victims. Hamidehs close assistant, treasurer of Al-Awda Anas Amireh makes no effort to hide his support for terrorists either. Here is an example of Amireh promoting shooting and ramming cars into Jews. Amireh posted this 3 weeks after a Palestinian terrorist rammed his car into three month old Chaya Braun murdering her in her carriage in Jerusalem. Chaya was an American citizen.

Al-Awda was once a popular anti-Israel [many would say anti-Semitic] 501(c)3 non-profit tax-exempt organization . However, looking at the 2014 990 form, it would seem that the organization has been losing popularity, since total grants and membership fees have declined from $220,844 in 2010 to $79,054 in 2014. My assessment is that rabid elements of anti-Semitism have steadily been creeping into mainstream BDS and pro-Palestinian organizations, forcing more moderate activists and organizations to disconnect.

In the past, Hamideh would organize Al-Awda conventions while inviting Hamas supporters and BDS activists such as Ali AbunimahRania KhalekRemi KanaziLamis Deek and others. Naturally, they would also discuss BDS strategies “For the Return”. As of late, there have not been any Al-Awda conventions scheduled – likely due to the fact that funds are low because of the extreme direction which Hamideh and company have taken. Mainstream pro-BDS activists can’t afford to be associated with activists like Hamideh for fear of losing funding from government-backed NGO’s, as well as support from liberal Jewish organizations.

One example of loss of support is the apparent fallout between Hamideh and Linda Sarsour – director of the Brooklyn-based Arab American Association of New York [AAANY]. We all remember Linda Sarsour as one of the main organizers of the recent Women’s March. Since then Linda has been exposed as a fraud, following a series of tweets which surfaced. Much has been written about Sarsour over the years, including concerns about her pro-Sharia stance and terrorist ties to Hamas. At around the time Sarsour started campaigning for Bernie Sanders, the two refrained from communicating on social media as well as not meeting at random BDS events. Prior to this period, Hamideh and Sarsour were in constant contact as seen herehere, and here – even joking about ethnic cleansing of Jews from Israel.

I was highly concerned that the Sanders campaign was dealing with a close associate of Hamideh and so I started to ask questions. I wrote to a few newspapers, online publications, and elected officials. Since then it appears that the disconnect has intensified – probably due to the fact that Sarsour wanted to further distance herself from Hamideh for fear that it would be exposed nationally. Perhaps it had to do with videos I posted exposing Hamideh, or maybe it was because information was leaked that a possible NY Post article on the subject may have been in the works. One of the videos posted included Hamideh leading a BDS rally in Cleveland while encouraging the chant “Khaybar Khaybar ya yahood" – basically a call to slaughter Jews. The origin refers to the battle in the city of Khaybar [town in Saudi Arabia] where Mohammed led an army to slaughter Jews. Whatever the reasons, Sarsour obviously led the disconnect and Hamideh has since fired back at Sarsour on social media.

Hamideh is now organizing his “SupportPalestineinDC” hate fest, due to take place on Sunday March 26th. The rally is being held to “support Palestine and protest AIPAC simultaneously”. BDS will be a major focal point at this event, with guests like pro-Assad, Hamas, and Hezbollah supporter Rania Khalek due to speak.

Last year, the event attracted extremely bizarre groups and individuals. One of these unhinged anti-Semites is Brother Nathanael, founder of Real Jew News”, who is a guest columnist for anti-Semitic websites such as Rense and SmolokoOthers included the Westboro Baptist Church, who showed up yelling homophobic slurs and blaming catastrophes and disasters on homosexuals and JewsHamas supporter Max Blumenthal also showed up and chased Rabbi Shmuley Boteach down the street yelling and screaming. Abby Martin [to whom I refer as “the bastion of journalistic integrity”] was also there, showing us how professional “journalists” conduct themselves. Last but not least, let’s not forget “Code Pink”, which classifies itself as a “feminist organization” yet supports the Iranian Ayatollahs.

One especially bizarre addition to this year’s event is a gentleman known as James “Jimmy” Fry. In all honestly, he is a small-time anti-Semite who, according to his Facebook page, is a “Teacher and advocate for the people of Virginia Beach” and a “Counter PSYOPS expert”. Apparently, he also ran for the Virginia Beach school board and claimed to be a substitute teacher. Hamideh has recently befriended Fry and their friendship is well-documented on social media. As of late, Fry has expressed extremely vile anti-Semitic views with tweets that mock and belittle the Holocaust. In addition, his Facebook page includes videos of himself ranting about “Dirty F------ Jews”. Another example is Fry joking about certain people making “good lampshades”, an obvious reference to the claim that Nazis made lampshades using the skin of Jews. After I exposed all of this numerous times on social media, Hamideh seemed to have ceased engagement with Fry.

I’m bringing up James Fry, but not because he’s an intellectual who could potentially be dangerous. He truly is an insignificant, classic small-time anti-Semite – who, in most cases, we would completely ignore. However, my purpose in mentioning him is to provide the readers with an understanding of how the link between the James Frys of the world and the global BDS movement is becoming stronger and more apparent over time. We are witness to far too many examples of rabid anti-Semitism within BDS, such as those documented herehereand here

Just recently a story received attention concerning a Muslim Texas teacher, Nancy Salem. Salem was exposed on social media for her open anti-Semitism. In one instance, Salem told her daughter before a recent trip to Israel to Kiss the Palestine ground for me and kill some Jews”. Another incident depicts Nancy joking about gassing Jews” and that “not enough died”. In case you were wondering, yes, Nancy was a BDS activist at UTA University of Texas, Arlington, associated with the local SJP (Students for Justice in Palestine) chapter.

This is essentially the direction in which BDS has been heading for several years, since all the groups and individuals mentioned above have one common enemy – Israel, and to a growing extent, Jews. Further evidence is the Electronic Intifada, which is the leading BDS and pro-Hamas publication in the United States. It has not condemned these actions. Recently, in a pathetic attempt to win over liberal anti-Trump Jews, their extremist founder and editor Ali Abunimah, who proudly coined the term “Defense Force” for Hamas, has expressed “outrage” [in one tweetat an anti-Semitic attack in St. Louis. Sadly, this “outrage” is clearly a sham. Anyone “outraged” by anti-Semitism can’t be a supporter of Hamas nor would they retweet Hamas spokesman Osama Hamdan who claimed, “Jews mix blood of Christians in their holy matzoh”.

All in all, if last year’s rally led by Abbas Hamideh in DC was any indication of what’s to come next month, we will witness a gathering of anti-Semitic, anti-American [West], homophobic, terrorist supporting bigots who are not interested in peace nor human rights.

We have lots of ideas, but we need more resources to be even more effective. Please donate today to help get the message out and to help defend Israel.
