Even Palestinian Leaders Want Jewish Doctors
Many Palestinian leaders frequently, and in utmost secrecy, ferry their loved ones to receive medical treatment in Israeli hospitals. They do not tell their people and they do not tell the Arab world. But when they need medical care, they reach out for the best medical care in the world—Israel.
Some would call it hypocrisy. Some expediency. When a loved one is ill, politics and enmities fall by the wayside. It is a game changer.
The cloak of secrecy is mandated because, in the Arab world, the optics would not look good at all. After all, Israel is portrayed as the oppressor, the evil persecutor, the murderer of Palestinians. How would it look across the world if it were known that privileged Palestinians utilize the skills of the forbidden and cursed Jewish Zionist State?
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ younger brother, Abu Louai, was recently treated in Assuta Hospital, a private hospital in Tel Aviv. Abu Louai is 76 years old and suffers from cancer. He lives in Qatar. The PA press has not and probably will not publish this information—neither will the rest of the Arabic press should they ever get the news.

During Israel's War of Independence, Jews were ethnically cleansed from Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem, and in the years that followed, they were ethnically cleansed from the rest of the Arab world.
Jews demand the right to exist, and to exist as equals, on the land where they have existed and belonged continuously for more than three thousand years.
We would rather claim that the conflict is about "occupation" and "settlements." The Jews see what radical Islamists are now doing to Christians and other minorities, who were also in the Middle East for thousands of years before the Muslim Prophet Mohammed was even born.
The real Arab grievance against the Jews is that they exist.
A Guardian article by Sian Cain (Michael Chabon witnesses ‘grievous injustice’ in occupied territories, May 6th) included the following paragraph, with background on the “Palestinian territories” Israel “entered” during the 1967 war.
Chabon and his wife, writer Ayelet Waldman, are contributing to and editing the as-yet-unnamed book of essays that will be published to mark the 50th anniversary of 1967’s six-day war, when Israel first entered the Palestinian territories: the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, parts of the Golan Heights and the Gaza Strip.
Of course, the Golan Heights were seized from Syria during the Six-Day War, and were never ‘Palestinian’ – even in the broadest sense of the term.
The passage conflates the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza (which were controlled by Jordan and Egypt respectively before the war, and now claimed by some Palestinians as part of their future state) with the Golan Heights, which were controlled by Syria since 1944. Whilst referring to the West Bank and east Jerusalem as “Palestinian territories” – rather than the ‘disputed territories’ claimed by Palestinians – is itself misleading, saying the same about the Golan Heights is simply inaccurate.

The ID found that “it had been established that it is likely that Fatah did not entirely disassociate itself from acts of terrorism against the Israeli state even after renouncing armed struggle and that the most notorious faction within Fatah, the AAMB (Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades), did not exist separately from Fatah as a whole.”

In 2015, the security agency foiled some 239 attacks overall, among them 12 suicide bombings, 19 kidnappings, 41 bombings and 120 shootings. In 2014, some 217 attacks were prevented by the security agency, up from 187 in 2013, 112 in 2012 and 88 in 2011.

The point of the report which will be unveiled sometime in the next several weeks and then presented for an almost certain approval vote at the United Nations is to assess the blame for the failure to create a two-state solution to the dispute between Israel and the Palestinians. Its contents make clear that the four entities involved in the Quartet, the United Nations, the European Union, Russia and the United States, all agree that the reason why peace hasn’t yet been attained is settlement building.
The real question about the report isn’t about the degree of blame to be placed on Israel. The Obama administration, like its diplomatic partners, isn’t very interested in any aspect of the conflict but the one of how many apartments are being built in decades old Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem or West Bank settlements. Rather, the variable in this strategy is just how far the administration is prepared to go in its last months to pursue the president’s vendetta against his longtime antagonist Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. With the Palestinian Authority poised to head again to the United Nations to get the world body to recognize them as an independent state without first making the PA make peace with Israel, the administration has a dilemma. It can either insist that the Palestinians negotiate their independence via a peace process that will entail their recognition of Israel and commitment to ending the conflict for all time or it can abandon the Jewish state at the UN as Obama’s parting shot after eight years of increasingly bitter conflicts between the two governments driven primarily by the president’s obsessive belief that Israel is the obstacle to peace.
McGraw Hill’s decision to trash copies of its textbook Global Politics: Engaging a Complex World has been subjected to intense criticism on web sites propagating the “Palestinian Narrative” of the 100 years old Arab-Jewish conflict. Now, Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) has published a letter signed by 35 “prominent academics” attacking McGraw Hill’s “shocking and outrageous act of censorship of the Palestinian narrative from US schoolbooks”.
The fact that JVP openly acknowledges the offending maps are part of the “Palestinian narrative” is surely more than sufficient justification for trashing the text book – because no disclosure was made by the contributing editors that the maps they used were partisan in nature.
But the academics letter goes even further in claiming:
1. “The maps in question are historically accurate” – but gives no evidence to back up that claim.
2. “If there were in fact any minor errors with the maps they should have been corrected rather than removed altogether” – but fails to list such minor errors.

The two were brought to the UN in New York by the OneFamily organization that supports terror victims and Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon, who clashed with the Palestinian representative to the UN during the visit over the latter's refusal to condemn terror.
“In our presence, the Palestinian representative complained that hundreds of Palestinian children are in Israeli prisons. One of the children he talked about murdered my wife! Despite the terrible scandal of misrepresentation, nobody prevented him from continuing his speech,” wrote Meir.
"Israel's UN ambassador introduced me and my daughter and told our story. Not one UN ambassador bothered to come and comfort my 17-year-old daughter. No one came to shake our hands. No one called or met with us before or after. Not one letter. "I, a citizen of the world. A simple citizen who painfully asks: How can the United Nations strive to be relevant when there is not a single drop of basic human compassion? How can delegates not look directly in the eyes of a man who has all the right to condemn another person? Where is the honesty? Where is the human aspiration that was the basis of establishing the institution you lead? Can such an organization prevent hatred, animosity and inequality?” wondered Meir in his letter.

Raed Salah, 57, head of the banned Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement, left his home in the town of Umm al-Fahm in the north of the country and headed down to Ohalei Kedar detention center near Beersheba in the south during the morning, Haaretz reported.
Salah was sentenced last year for incitement to violence and racism over an inflammatory sermon he delivered in 2007 in Jerusalem. He has previously served terms for similar offenses.
Hundreds of people turned out to show their support for Salah, among them lawmakers from the Joint (Arab) List, a Channel 2 report said, but did not identify which MKs were there.

Offices of UNRWA, a UN body established only to deal with the roughly 800,000 Arabs who left Israel during the 1948 War of Independence, were closed by the protests in Lebanon last Thursday and Friday, over a new policy requiring the "refugees" to pay a limited co-payment on medical treatment.
Now on Sunday the popular committees of the Palestinian "refugee camps" in Judea and Samaria announced they will harass UNRWA over its decision to replace its food distribution program in the "camps" with a cash card system.
Husni Odeh, a spokesperson for the committees, told Ma'an News Agency that they had informed UNRWA of the protest, which is to last from Monday until Friday.
As part of the protest the "refugees" will block UNRWA cars from moving inside Judea and Samaria, will close all UNRWA warehouses, social affairs offices, and "camp" directors' offices in the region.

According to the Mail on Sunday, Ealing MP Rupa Huq made the comments last year at a meeting of the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign, saying that the apology was something that a Labour Government “could probably get that through”.
The revelation comes at the end of a tumultuous week for the left-wing party as members have been suspended and publicly exposed for anti-Semitic remarks as well as anti-Israel sympathies.
As Breitbart Jerusalem reported, just last Wednesday former Labour Mayor of London Ken Livingstone called the creation of Israel “fundamentally wrong,” and “a great catastrophe.” The existence of the Jewish state in the Middle East, he said, could ultimately lead to nuclear war.

Romero’s statement calling the Jewish Community Central Committee’s president “a f***ing Jew,” was recorded by Grupo Imagen Multimedia radio news service, The Excelsior newspaper reported late last week.
“Since 2003, our country has a law to prevent and extinguish discrimination, including anti-Semitism. It’s unacceptable that, in a pluralistic and democratic society, people keep on using depreciative expressions like the one congressman Romero did,” read a note from the Mexican Jewish Community Central Committee, distributed by the Israelite Tribune.
The aggression was witnessed during the confirmation of Achar’s name for the position of honorary adviser of the Human Rights Commission in Mexico’s Congress, whose session rules Romero’s political party PAN and other parties attempted to change at the last minute.

Only a handful of surgical robots currently are approved for use, and Israelis developed three of them.
